Douglas Cox Violin, 1987, Putney, Vermont

Once commissioned by a founding member of the Juilliard String Quartet, our example of Douglas Cox is a violin with truly piercing sound. It is a bright soloist’s instrument with some of the fastest response we’ve tested on violins in recent years. As one of his earlier works, it features Doug’s earlier styles and tonal profile. Its birdseye maple back gives the instrument a truly distinguishable and beautiful look. It’s an exciting violin for any violinist that is looking for significantly greater sound and an immediate response.
